CHEFS wAREHOUSE AT THE BAILEY

From the moment Liam Tomlin set foot in the 19th-century Bree Street building that would become The Bailey, he knew it had the bones to be something extraordinary.

Chefs Warehouse at The Bailey is the anchor on the ground floor of this grand old lady. It’s a chic reprise of the original Chefs Warehouse and Canteen – which was just across the street. The place that so famously put Liam on the map in South Africa back in 2014. Where his signature Tapas for Two concept was born. Chefs Warehouse at The Bailey takes this fun and playful eating experience one step further with an à la carte menu.

This means more choices to tailor-make your own fantasy global spread, thoughtfully prepared and served. It’s an open-ended ticket to dip into the dishes and cuisines you’ve always wanted to try or revisit your favourites, in comfort and style, at one table.

Open since 2022, this is the restaurant that best celebrates Liam’s diverse and far-flung food loves and international career. It’s where you can eat a globetrotting meal that draws from the best of European, Asian and Middle Eastern cuisines.

Pull in for Spanish, Vietnamese, Italian or maybe Thai.

Beautiful food that is not overly complicated, with the stamp of freshness, and balance of bold and subtle flavours Liam is known for. An open seafood bar with caviar, freshly shucked Saldanha Bay oysters, and the freshest raw fish from local waters destined for sashimi, tartare or ceviche. Plentiful vegetarian and vegan dishes.

It’s an urban luxe location to relax, socialise and eat great food. An elegant mezzanine bar, olive green and ‘graffiti’ print walls, plush green banquettes and conversation-starting works of art. You’re in for a feast of global tapas with Liam, and a team of genuinely warm and professional servers.
